ABOUT THE EPISODE ON THE MOVIE ‘NINE’: Daniel Day Lewis was nervous. He was blushing and rubbing his forehead and struggling in general. Oprah had to help him out. This both comforts and terrifies me; the former because I can relate (not to being famous, obv, but to being nervous on-the-spot), the latter because if two-time Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis is nervous on the spot, what hope do I have to overcome it?
Also, I wonder how awkward or not it was for Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz to work closely together having shared Mr. Scientology himself.
ABOUT THE PORN EPISODE: 1 in 3 porn consumers are women?
Jenna Jameson quotes that struck me in some way:
“I think that inside every woman there’s a little Jemma Jameson.”
“I wanted to [approach the porn industry] with dignity. I wanted to touch peoples’ lives.”
“You shouldn’t be [acting in porn] if you’re desperate.”
“I don’t worry about what people think (as she’s crying).”
“I’ve had my breasts done quite a few times. DON’T DO IT.”
“There are a few nights when I lay down and wonder whether or not I made the right decisions.”
“I deal with a lot of women loving me but secretly hating me.”
Oprah approached this topic (and JJ) with dignity, which I appreciate. I once had a client in Miami who was a stripper/sometime prostitute, and it was a valuable exercise in putting aside my values to interact with someone human-to-human.
